Dungeons & Dragons - Short Breaks

WHAT? 

This is run in partnership with Short Breaks and young people must have a Short Breaks Card to attend.


If you don't have one, you can apply for one here or we have paper forms available at The AUtism Zone.


 It costs £5 to attend. 


It is for young people aged between 13 & 19 years old.


Young people can attend this meet without an adult , but a Registration Form must be be completed in advance. Please click here to complete one.

WHAT? 

This meet is free.


Young people do not need a diagnosis to attend.

It is for autistic young people aged between 12 and 17 and provides an opportunity for autistic young people to meet each oth

There are numerous activities available which vary each session.If a young person has a preferred activity, we will do our best to make it available for them.

WHAT? 

A series of 6 sessions where young people create an I AM profile that explains how best to support them.

Young people should attend all 6 sessions.


The sessions are as follows:


  1. What is Neurodiversity and What Does it Mean to Be Autistic?
  2. Strengths and Support Needs
  3. Sensory Differences
  4. New People & Places
  5. When I'm Not OK
  6. Final I Am Profiles

Women & Girls' Meet

This meet is free.


You do not need a diagnosis to attend.


It is for autistic women & girls, including trans and NB.

It provides an opportunity for autistic women & girls of all ages to meet each other and chat with our peer support workers.

ONLINE Info for Family & Carers of Autistic Young People

WHO?

These sessions are for the adult families and carers of autistic children and young people . Those with children and young people with a diagnosis, on the waiting list for a diagnosis, self diagnosed, or curious about assessment and diagnosis are welcome.


WHAT? 

This meet is free.

An opportunity for families and carers to chat with our peer support workers about specific topics.  

You can attend as many sessions as you want to and you do not have to attend all sessions.

These sessions will have a different theme each time. 

 

 • 10th September - Monotropic Mind
• 8th October - Sensory Differences
• 5th November - Meltdowns and Shutdowns
• 3rd December - Communication
• 28th January - Masking
• 25th February - Burnout 


WHERE?

ONLINE via Teams 

A link will be emailed to with your booking confirmation.


• You do not need to have your camera or microphone on.
• You can leave the session at any time.
• You can sit/ stand/ bounce/ move – whatever is most comfortable.
• You don’t have to interact with anyone – including us!
• If you don’t want to talk, but have something to say, you can use the chat box to type what you want to say and we will read it out for you.

Drop-In Info & Advice Sessions



WHAT? 

This drop-in is free.


You do not need a diagnosis to attend.


Drop-in information and advice session for autistic adults, their families and supporters – no appointment needed.


It is a chance to:

· visit the building.

· borrow from the Sensory Library.

· talk to our peer supporters and volunteers.

· ask questions and discuss issues and concerns.


Please note, this is not an organised activity.

It will operate on a drop-in basis.

You may need to wait for a peer-support mentor to become available.
